Jetart NP8680 ezFan notebook cooler comes with a transparent sealed packaging box and there is advantages (exact unit is viewable) as well as disadvantages (can't be recycled) for having such packaging; anyway it is not really important for such simple and cheap device. Product description, feature, specification and instruction information are described clearly at the back of packaging. No other accessory is bundled together for this product besides the cooler itself.

A Closer Look: Jetart ezFan Notebook Cooler

ezfan_12.jpg ezfan_05.jpg

As we mentioned previous Jetart NP8680 ezFan notebook cooler is a unique notebook cooler which is pretty rare in the market and sorry to say that this is the first time that we know about such innovative external notebook cooler. Same with other notebook cooler, the core function of Jetart NP8680 is used to cool down the notebook but in additional it also can be used to cool user's palm which help to increase the comfort and prevent sweating; it's a real multipurpose cooler.

ezfan_03.jpg ezfan_08.jpg

There are two models available for Jetart ezFan notebook cooler; NP8680 and NP8600; it seems that NP8680 is the latest version as it has advantages that the other one. Both of these Jetart ezFan notebook coolers are quite similar in term of design and function but Jetart NP8680 comes with smaller size; 126.3 x 104.6 x 26.6 mm which is much slimmer compares with NP8600; 118.6 x 101 x 50 mm. Anyway there are two colors available for NP8680; black and silver.

The stand of Jetart ezFan notebook cooler is foldable so that it can be kept easily especially for notebook case since this product is designed for notebook application. The stand of Jetart ezFan notebook cooler needs to be pushed downward before it can be fully released to make the cooler station firmly on the ground. Jetart NP8680 is an extreme flexible cooler because it allows free airflow adjustment to maximize the cooling performance accoding to the ventilation design of the notebook.

Jetart ezFan notebook cooler is powered by a 80mm cooling fan which is 0.3A 5V DC fan with having 1400 - 2500 RPM fan speed. We have no idea what is the brand of this cooling fan since Jetart has relabeled the fan label but basically underneath this cooler, it is a normal 80mm fan where it can be upgraded or replaced by any other 80mm fan; of course some soldering skill is required. Another great feature of Jetart ezFan notebook cooler is the adjustable fan speed which is basically controlled by an adjustable resistor.

ezfan_04.jpg ezfan_07.jpg

Same with other notebook devices, Jetart ezFan notebook cooler is powered by USB cable which is kept inside a cable slot right beside the 80mm cooling fan. In order to keep the USB cable nicely inside this cable slot, a retractable type cable is used for Jetart ezFan notebook cooler. Such cable management is really useful because most of the USB devices are having one common weakness where it is hard to manage/keep the cable neatly and quickly.

ezfan_11.jpg ezfan_10.jpg

Anyway the USB cable length of Jetart ezFan notebook cooler is around 40mm which is pretty enough for a notebook user but since the cable is retractable, we will prefer a longer cable; maybe 60mm so that the USB cable can be routed to another side of the notebook in case there is USB port limitation issue for certain of notebook like ours one; only two USB ports are available.

Installation, Testing & Performance

ezfan_18.jpg

Installation for Jetart ezFan notebook cooler is extremely easy since it is just a simple notebook peripheral. Basically there is only a single installation step for Jetart ezFan notebook cooler; "plug & play". There isn't any weakness or problem of this device in term of installation but if possible we still prefer a longer USB cable as we mentioned previously because during our testing, we faced some problem to connect this device on the notebook USB port which is located on the right side but we have to place this cooler on the left side where is the CPU ventilation area.

In term of the performance of Jetart ezFan notebook cooler, basically it is working pretty well as per design. However the good results above were taken at different locations as all these components are not located on the same location which is one of the weaknesses for this cooler although it is a flexible cooler. Anyway its flexibility is really helpful to solve the common issue for traditional notebook cooler where the ventilation is not standardized.

Besides that we also tested Jetart ezFan notebook cooler to cool our palm and it really comfortable to have such light wind to blow our palm especially for long hour of usage. In term of noise, Jetart ezFan notebook cooler is quite noisy during highest speed where the noise is around 32.12 dBA but when at medium to lowest speed, the noise level is pretty low and it is hardly audible.

Verdicts

If you are tired with traditional bulky notebook cooler then Jetart ezFan notebook cooler; NP8680 is another good choice for you. Jetart ezFan notebook cooler is a multipurpose external notebook cooler as besides to cool down the notebook, it also can be used to cool down your palm to increase its comfort and preventing sweating after long hour of usage which can end up with dirt collecting. Other advantages of Jetart ezFan notebook cooler are retractable USB cable, cable slot, fan speed adjustment and so on. If you are a notebook users and looking for a notebook cooler then you should definitely give it a try; no regret.

Pros:
+ Plug & play
+ Multipurpose usages
+ Suitable for all kind of notebooks
+ Retractable USB cable
+ Hidden USB cable slot
+ Fan speed is adjustable
+ Much smaller size than traditional cooler

Cons:
- Prefer longer USB cable
