The black nylon zipper case of this USB tool kit is very good quality and the case handle is good for users to carry this case easily. All the USB devices are arranged and placed very nicely inside the case with some partition foams. The foam can be taken out from the case easily if allow users to store more stuff inside but it will be not so tidy.

This 17 in 1 Retractable USB tool Kit is a quite complete USB tool kit as it is not only contains quite number of USB converter, devices but also comes with a 800dpi mini optical mouse and an earphone. The optical mouse is a pretty small and slim mouse which comes with 27" retractable cable. This optical mouse may not suitable for heavy usage especially for those are having big palm but it is definitely good for travelling, business trip and etc.

The next item will be the earphone that comes with microphone as well. The earphone is a single sided earphone so it doesn't have any left/right indication. This earphone comes with retractable cable which is around 29" length. The earphone jack comes with yellow color and red color for the microphone which is good for identification.  

 

Besides that a USB hub is included too which comes with slim size and transparent color. This USB hub is a 4 ports USB hub which allows users connect up to four USB devices. Although this USB hub does not come with retractable cable but the male USB connector can be hid under the USB hub which is really convenience.

 

Besides the optical mouse and the earphone, other retractable cable items are 1 x RJ11 to RJ11, 1 x FireWire 1394 6PM to 6PM, 1 x USB AM to USB AM and 1 x USB AM to AF. All of these devices are having around the same length; 36" or 3 feet. The retractable feature is functioning very well on these cables and furthermore there are five stages of retraction which allows users to keep the exact required cable length as precision as possible to avoid the cable messy around

 

Let us explain some of the usage of these converters so that you can have better understanding about them. USB AM to AM connector is seldom used but it is mostly used for external storage devices and USB AM to BM connector can be widely found on USB printer and scanner. USB AM to Mini 5PM connector and USB AM to Mini 4PM connector are used for MP3 player and digital camera respectively. RJ45 Crossover connector is used for connecting with another system for data sharing. FireWire 1394 6PF to 4PM Connector can be used for USB memory card reader, digital camera. The remaining converters are RJ11/RJ45 to USB AF connector which can be functioned for normal USB port.

For the testing, basically we just done some very simple tests on this USB tool kit especially for the mouse, and earphone as we just need to confirm the rest of the devices are working then that it is since these devices don't need any benchmarking test on them. 

The optical mouse and earphone are working well but we will expect to see further quality improvement of these two devices especially the earphone. The mouse is a 800dpi mouse so it could be used for some light gaming provided you have no problem to control this small mouse. The retractable feature of the optical mouse, earphone, FireWire 1394 6PM to 6PM cable and RJ11 to RJ11 cable is good where it have five stages of retractable for different length requirement of the users.

 

Conclusion

Overall this 17 in 1 Retractable USB tool Kit has served its purpose as this kit is quite a complete kit that we have seen so far. Furthermore this USB tool kit also includes some of the rare converters that are not widely available in the market so if you have this kit then it will save your time to look for these unique converters. The retractable features of this kit is very useful and convenience for the users especially for business trip, traveling and etc. 38USD for this kit may be a bit overprice but if you really need it then better check out some of the online retailers as you may find better deal for it.
