A Closer Look - Coolink Silent Savior
As we mentioned previously Coolink Silent Savior is a simple HDD cooler as such HDD cooler is pretty similar with other brands; not really special. The whole unit of Coolink Silent Savior is used to mount on the bottom of the HDD (facing PCB panel) and due to this those PC cases with bottom HDD installation is not suitable with this HDD cooler since there is no room to install this cooler. Anyway such case is rare as most of the PC cases come with side installation and basically Coolink Silent Savior supports all kind of 3.5" HDD which is great especially for those 10K RPM HDDs.
The whole unit of Coolink Silent Savior is made by aluminum frame (good for heat dissipation) with size 115 x 100 x 23 mm and the total weight is just around 130g; pretty light. Coolink Silent Savior is powered up with a 80mm semi-transparent blue fan which comes with 1700RPM and 30m3/h. The fan is a SWiF 801-L which is a quality high precision double ball bearing fan for ensuring longevity and since standard 80mm fan is used which means that the fan can be upgraded replaced with other standard 80mm cooling fan.
With the 7V adapter, the noise will be reduced from 16 dB/A to 9dB/A for those are looking for extreme silent operating environment. The cable of Coolink Silent Savior is sleeved but the sleeving job and material could be further improved to make it looks better and nicer. Anyway Coolink provides 2-year warranty for Silent Savior which is pretty good enough for such simple and cheap product.
Installation, Testing & Performance
The installation of Coolink Silent Savior is pretty straightforward where the HDD needs to be removed out from the case then follow by mounting it on the HDD with four screws. Our PC case is equipped with tool-less rail for ODD and HDD installation which may potential blocks the Coolink Silent Savior but luckily we didn't encounter such issue as the rails are slim type which doesn't have any compatible issue with this HDD cooler.
