Packaging

 

Corsair Voyager 64GB comes with transparent plastic packaging where it is pretty simple and standard for a flash drive. At the back of the packaging, there are some basic features of Corsair Voyager in multi languages; English, French, Dutch, Italian, Spanish and Russian.

 

Besides Corsair Voyager 64GB dongle itself, it still comes with other accessories like USB extension cable, lanyard, bag and a key chain. The shield USB extension cable is useful for certain of users as some of them only able to access the USB port at the back of the casing or to avoid blocking other USB ports due to its thickness.

 

A lanyard is provided same as other Voyager models but Corsair Voyager 64GB comes with additional goodies like key chain and bag. The key chain is designed to able to hold the Voyager cap to avoid the cap missing and the bag is for storing the Corsair Voyager.

 

Corsair 64GB Flash Voyager Drive

Corsair Voyager flash drive has two version; standard and GT. The GT version is using performance IC-paired memory and controller where it is for those require higher responsive flash drive as it provides 3X to 4X faster than normal flash drive. Corsair Voyager GT only has 16GB capacity while Corsair Voyager has capacities from 4GB to 64GB.

 

Corsair Voyager is so famous and earns the one of the highest respective comment among the rest of the flash drives from end users are due to its unique design with great features. Those features like durable, water resistance and drop tested. Corsair Voyager haven't been tested that the flash will still working well even after laundered, baked, frozen, boiled, dropped, and even run over by a SUV. Corsair Voyager 64GB dongle is much bigger if compare with other flash drives where its dimension is around 100 x 25 x 15 mm; a bit bulky but still much slimmer than a 80GB 2.5" HDD.

 

Corsair Voyager comes with all rubber housing where it provides higher durable and able to withstand all kind of dropping and etc. The rubber housing is good for protecting the flash drive but due to its thickness 15mm may cause some problems for the users as it might block the next USB port that is located beside the connected USB ports.

 

Corsair Voyager comes with a cap to protect the flash drive connector and to avoid the cap missing, the key chain can be replaced the flash drive connector so that users will not forget where is the cap that have been placed. There is a blue LED at the back of the Voyager flash drive to indicate the flash drive activity.

Here are some benchmark results for Corsair Voyager 64GB with other flash drives. With the HD 3.0 benchmark result, it is clearly stated that Corsair Voyager 64GB beats the rest of the flash drives in term of fast accessing. Random Access Time lower will be better and during our testing, all these four flash drives have around the same value between 0.5ms to 0.6ms after few tests.

 

 

 

TrueCrypt 4.3 is software with on-the-fly encryption (featuring AES-256 bit encryption) to secure the data in the Corsair Voyager. This software is not included for 64GB version but it still can be downloaded from internet for free and the link is provided in Corsair website as well. TrueCrypt 4.3 is a quite complicated software compare with other simple software that are available for other brand flash drive. Its complicated is to ensure the flash drive is well protected and there are many features and functions that normal flash drive secure software cannot offer. Here are some snapshot for this TrueCrypt 4.3 software.

 

Conclusion

Frankly to say Corsair Voyager is really one of the top flash drives that in the market and with its superb outstanding durable usage like water resistance, drop tested. With these it really make users to think twice whether should they just get a normal flash drive and why not go for Corsair Voyager? Corsair Voyager 64GB MSRP is around 200USD and some online retailers are selling them around 180USD. If you are really require a mass storage media and not satisfy with the size of external 2.5" HDD then you should have a look on the Corsair Voyager 64GB and furthermor i still comes with 10 years warranty.
