Package & Contents

Proporta BeachBuoy comes with a very simple packaging; just a sealed plastic bag since such bag doesn't really need any well protected packaging. There is a small booklet comes along with Proporta BeachBuoy which contains information such as guarantee, testing method, instruction in Multilanguage. The instruction & diagram are quite clear and should able to guide the user to complete the installation for the first attempt.

Same with Proporta BeachBuoy, Proporta Panther pack is also packed in a sealed plastic bag. There isn't any additional accessory bundled together with Proporta Panther pack since it is merely a bag without requires any intrusions or guidance. Proporta provides lifetime warranty for Panther pack since it doesn't really need any special care or maintenance.

Proporta BeachBuoy

As we mentioned before Proporta BeachBuoy is a bag for keeping valuable belongings such as phone, camera, keys, iPod, credit card, cash and etc which is purposely designed to be used ideally at beach, waterfall, Lagoon or similar places that you may get wet. Proporta BeachBuoy is waterproof up to 5 meters or 16 feets (which is more than enough) and has been validated by British Standards Institute (BSI).

Besides waterproof, Proporta BeachBuoy also helps to protect users belonging from sand and sticky fingers. The overall dimension of Proporta BeachBuoy is 13.5 x 8.5 x 3.5 cm (LxWxD) which is pretty slim and it can be folded into half so that it can be kept easily. Proporta BeachBuoy is using simple grip seal system and there are four grip seals (can be grouped into 2) to enhance its waterproof feature.

Besides the grip seals, there are a set of velcro strip on both sides (female and male) on the Proporta BeachBuoy for further securing BeachBuoy in case the grip seals do not attached properly. Once the grip seals are attached, it needs to be folded and affixed with Velcro strip; the work instruction will be shown more in later chapter.

If you have noticed, there are three red and one green dot at the top portion of Proporta BeachBuoy. These dots are used for easily understanding the work instruction since Proporta Beachbuoy doesn't have any unique marking on it. Besides that there are some guides printed on the BeachBuoy for easily reference.

Here is some additional picture of the Velcro strip. A lanyard is attached along with the Proporta BeachBuoy for user to carry this bag easily else there is no point to have this bag while the user is having a hard time to carry it. The lanyard has a Safety breakaway feature for safety reason.

Proporta Panther Pack

Another item that we would like to have a quick look here is Proporta Panther pack. There are two models for this Proporta Panther pack; standard and bundle versions where some additional accessories are provided such as dual USB car charger, magnetic dashboard mount and a 3.5mm male to 3.5mm male stereo link cable. All these accessories of Proporta Panther pack bundle version are car accessories and it cost additional 37USD over the standard version.

Let us talk about its usage since it seems it should be paired with car accessories based on the bundle version. In Short, Proporta Panther pack is a bag for protecting and storing small gadgets such as mobile phone, iPod and etc. The approximate dimension of Proporta Panther pack is 8" x 1" x 5.5" (L x W x D); pretty small but not small enough for keeping inside pocket.

Since Proporta Panther pack is only a small bag, it only comes with one container which able to store one compact slim digital camera plus additional charger, battery and other similar size item. Besides that Proporta Panther pack also comes with a useful plastic aperture which is ideal for mobile phone, iPod and other device with cable so that continual access will be given to the device via headphones.

As you can see Proporta Panther pack comes with very good quality material and the inner is structured by semi waterproof material. Besides that both front and back surface of Proporta Panther pack are come with sponges which give additional protection for the internal packed devices against dropping.

Installation, Testing & Performance

It's time to talk about its work instructions and we will go through quickly with you guys since it is a simple product; no rocket science here. First of all, the device needs to be put inside the Proporta BeachBuoy but it will take some time especially for taking out the stuff because the plastic is extremely sticky. This is even worse if user would like to take out something small size and light from BeachBuoy since BeachBuoy is quite deep and it is hard for our hand to reach the bottom of the bag; we hope to see some improvement for the next version although this is not critical enough for stopping to get this great stuff.

Once the device is placed inside the BeachBuoy, it is time to pinch the 1st group of grip seal (1st & 2nd grip seal) firmly then follow by 2nd group of grip seal (3rd & 4th grip seals). All these grip seals are a bit hard to be pinched but it will be easier to place it on top of a hard surface then just pinch it from one side rather than both sides.

After that the top portion of Proporta BeachBuoy needs to be folded over and the www.morfica.com/beachbuoy shouldn't be seen anymore. Then follow by folding it 2nd time so that the Velcro strip can be attached together to fasten the BeachBuoy further; red dot shouldn't be seen anymore else the process is not right. That is for the whole installation process and it is very straightforward.

To ensure the Proporta Beachbuoy is 100% waterproof and the process is right, Proporta recommend conducting a tissue paper test. The test is simple where just requires to place a new tissue paper inside BeachBuoy and fully submerge it inside a bucket or any other water container; as deep as possible. After couple of hours, take out the tissue paper from the BeachBuoy and if the tissue paper is dry that measn both of the BeachBuoy physical item and the installation process are right.

So for the Proporta Panther pack, there isn't required any testing; we just conducted a simple test as what user is going to do with it. We inserted couple of gadgets including mobile phone with headset inside Panther pack. Overall we neither encounter nor foresee any problem with this product but since Panther pack is only for small device; don't overpack it with huge device as overloading will always bring side effects. However there is one drawback of Panther pack as there isn't any belt attachment post or it should come with at least a lanyard as it is quite hard to convince other to store their gadget device inside this bad while hand carrying it; would like to see additional similar feature to enhance this bag.

Conclusion

Overall both of these products from Proporta; BeachBuoy and Panther pack are nice products especially the BeachBuoy which is ideal for holiday at beach for storing valuable belongings. The sealing method of BeachBuoy is very secure and able to be waterproof up to 5m which is more than enough. Both of these products from Proporta is quite cheap; just around 10USD and it is worth to get for it especially for the BeachBuoy.
