In short Cyber Snipa is a global supplier of PC modding and gaming accessories which is quite new to us. However Cyber Snipa does offer quite wide range of products and some of them are really interesting and unique. Our topic today is Dog Tags which is a combination of USB flash drive and a handy tool in military style.

 

As we know Cyber Snipa Dog Tags contains two dongles; USB flash drive and a handy tool kit so let us start with the USB flash drive since it is the major function of this product. At first glance the USB flash drive of Cyber Snipa Dog Tags looks quite similar with the army tag which is used for their identification and it is quite charming especially for youngster. The offering capacities of Cyber Snipa Dog Tags are from 512MB till 4GB and our sample here is a 1GB capacity which seems a bit not sufficient; we would say at least 4GB and above for today daily usage.

 

The outer edge of Cyber Snipa Dog Tags is made by black rubberized plastic for better protection against shock, drop as well as other direct impacts. There is imprinted aluminum plate for both sides of these dongles which looks good but if customized ID can be allowed then it will be a real tag for better identification. The tiny USB flash drive is kept inside the USB flash drive housing for easier accessing. The capacity indicator is located at the back of this tiny USB flash drive with a transparent sticker.

 

Here is another dongle of Cyber Snipa Dog Tags; a handy tool kit which is ideal for emergency repairs in the field. The tool kit contains star & flat head screwdrives, LED light, bottle opener, pliers and a nail file which are common for such tool kit (quite similar with a Swiss Army Knife tool kit). Both of these handy tool kit and USB flash drive dongles are quite similar in term of dimension but the handy tool kit is much heavier since it contains so many mini tools.

 

Here are the mini tools that we mentioned above of the Cyber Snipa Dog Tags and the LED light is located at the bottom of the tool kit dongle. All these mini tools are made with high quality material and this kit will be perfect for traveling, camping and other outstation activities. However we hope a scissor can be added or replace the pliers since it is a much more useful tool.

 

Since LED light requires power in order to work and basically the LED light of Cyber Snipa Dog Tags is powered up by two AG3 size batteries which are kept underneath the rubberized cap with two small star screws; at the middle of the dongle. The round rubberized button is the LED light switch; press and hold in order to light up the LED. Both of the Dog Tags come with a chain hole for either the necklace chain or key chain.

 

Installation, Testing & Performance

 

The LED light of Cyber Snipa Dog Tags is a white LED which is good enough to light up a small area in the darkness but it is not suitable for reading as the light isn't that concentrate or focus enough. For the USB flash drive of Cyber Snipa Dog Tags, no special installation is required, just plug and play (driver is only required for Win 98/ME systems); a red LED is be flashing when it is being accessed.

For the software portion of Cyber Snipa Dog Tags, two software are included; FlashDiskManager and CarryItEasy. FlashDiskManager is a free software for enhancing its security by allowing to create a new partition partially or fully; password is required in order to access this private partition. CarryItEasy is a free trial software with 30days testing period. CarryItEasy is not only a security software but also for faster data transfer, synchronization and so on; a higher end of USB flash drive software.

 

Last but not least, we also tested the USB flash drive performance of Cyber Snipa Dog Tags and above are the benchmarking results. With such results, we found that Cyber Snipa Dog Tags is not a high end USB flash drive but rather than a midrange USB flash drive. Since Cyber Snipa Dog Tags is targeting for emergency and temporary usages, we would say such performance is good enough since it is not really designed by heavier usage like storing huge amount of multimedia files.
